The Story
In 1954 Kenny Phillips brought home a Bell N Howell 8 mm film camera to his wife and two children. After that Kenny could always be found with the camera in his hands capturing his family travels, adventures, music, and special life events.
Footage from the time the family visited Elvis Presley's mansion, their multiple road trips to Florida, the famous Clinton integration, 1982 Worlds Fair, and many, many more moments are preserved and frozen in time through Kenny's films.
With over 100 hrs of footage spanning across the decades from 1954 to 2006 we watch and listen as Becky Parker ,the eldest daughter of Kenny Phillips, tells the stories of growing up from the age of six to her having her own children, and all the way to her becoming a grandmother to her own granddaughter Grace Ward a passionate storyteller and filmmaker.
They were featured in PBS American Portrait that aired on National Television during the pandemic.
